These photos are from the Martin family photo album from the 1920s through the 1950s.
Wilbur and Wanda Martin travelled frequently to Lac Pemichangan from their home in Athens, Ohio, starting sometime in the 1920s. During that time, the Martin and the Knight families hunted, fished, camped and worked together to build some of the earliest cabins on the lake. The Martin's two children, Bob and Nancy, were practically raised at the lake. Wilbur and Wanda Martin passed on long ago, but their daughter Nancy (now Nancy Black) continues travelling with her husband, Don Black, to the family cabin at Lac Pemichangan to this day.
Most photos are from the 1930s and 1940s. The dates are approximate in most cases and some are probably wrong, but the order is basically correct.
These photos were scanned and posted by Wilbur Martin's grandson, Randy Black, who now lives with his wife Vivian, in San Diego, California. Randy and Vivian are happy to share these memories with all who feel a connection to Lac Pemichangan. If any of you can provide a fuller or more accurate description for any of these photos, or if you have other photos from the same era that you would like to scan and share, please don't hesitate to contact Randy at email@example.com. All the best!

Vivian and Randy,
I am wondering if you did received the pictures I sent you by e-mail today. Those are pictures of the Knights brothers. Thanks again for letting me download your pictures of Lac Pemichangan. Buy the way, the "Big Island" has been named "Ile Chantigny"(Chantigny Island) in honor of the family that has been living for years on that island. One member of the Chantigny family still lives there on his ancestors' farm.
