A map (1876?) showing Lac Pemichangan as part of 31 Mile Lake. The name on the map is L. Papenegeang [something] / Grand Lac. This map found its way to me via Elaine Isabelle, a fellow cottage owner and friend who credits Theo Geraedts with locating the map. Apparently Theo Geraedts asked Chief William Commanda of Maniwaiki about the name. He said it means Grand Lac (as in Long Lake) in Algonquin.
